1. Santa Monica

This is the ideal beach for surfing or marveling at the surfers who come here to ride big waves. This beach is also known as Malibu Lagoon, and was the epicenter of surf culture during the 1960’s. Malibu became very popular several years ago when many celebrities from around the world built mansions with views of these beaches. Among them are Sean Penn, John Cusack, Cindy Crawford, Bárbara Streisand, Bruce Willis, Leo Di Caprio and Sting. The beach has one side where people surf, and the other side is oriented towards the port. Both sides have great surf, one is for those looking for more action and the other for those looking to relax and enjoy nature. 5. Hermosa Beach
This beach boasts clean, fine sand and the best surfers. Hermosa Beach is world renowned and professional surfers come here. It also has a paved biking and skating path. And right by the beach on Pier Avenue you have many options for nightlife.
